After reading the leveled reader titled "A Tour of Culture" I had two of my fourth grade students write down words or phrases that they thought were important to the story in their notebooks. They then used their list to create a word cloud. Creating the word cloud was easy, it was just figuring how to download it and print that was a little tricky. I didn't understand exactly how I was supposed to take a screen shot, but with Christine's help I learned! I did figure how to insert the word clouds into my blog all by myself. First I tried to use wordle and I couldn't get the text to create a word cloud. Christine suggested word it out. It definitely was easier, but I couldn't seem to figure out how I could make the text go a different way other than horizontal. I had tried it on textedo and I thought word it out would have the same options. I was a little disappointed.
